Finding a sense of self in the world isn't easy. When your identity has been formed through others' expectations, it can be difficult to know where to start when you decide to put yourself first. You might go through depression or severe anxiety when you realize you want more for your life than a mediocre job. You might become more aware of your relationship problems, and don't know how to change your role in them. You might find yourself getting frustrated with your child because their mistakes and behaviors have you thinking you're a failure. Breaking out of that and finding your inner being, is the first step to wholeness.
I specialize in life development and identity formation. I use techniques that help you isolate your problems and look at them from a different perspective. The key to identity formation is to release what we think we know and what we have been taught about ourselves. Our trauma and our experiences in life define us, but don't have power over what we become.
Creating a relationship where you can reach your most authentic self, is the ultimate goal in therapy.
